Kinda. I don't know how it happened!

It looks like all the photos that I have ever posted are broken, which make me pretty gosh darn sad.

How will anyone be able to look back and be amused without the proper imagery?

I have decided not to go through and fix every picture because that would make me want to kill myself.

SOOOO this is a new beginning.

I hope.

Much has happened since I last posted! Such as:

1. We moved away from our hellish neighbors (and out of cow town)! Yippeeeee! No more spit all over the ground outside our door, no more smoke (cigarette AND meth) seeping into our apartment, no more loud late-night screaming bouts, no more creepy people creeping around being creepers. Our new place is 500% nicer. That is not an exaggeration. Tile floors, dishwasher (THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!), full size washer and dryer (EEEEH!!), stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, granite countertops, huge bathroom, overhead lighting (I love all the lights!), never been lived in. Oh, don't forget the gym and pool too <3

2. I got a sweet new camera, the Sony Nex-5. It makes me want to take pictures of anything and everything. I am putting it to good use for my shop!

3. I took a trip to New York with my mom to visit family. It was so great visiting everyone. I forgot how gorgeous Long Island was! I want to move to Sag Harbor. Just sayin'.

4. I hit 100+ sales in my Etsy shop since opening last August. I can't say enough how much I love and appreciate my customers!! [gobuystuff.]

5. I got a job at Joann Fabrics & Crafts. Today! I walked in yesterday with my application, got an interview for the next day (today), and was offered the job 2 minutes into the 5 minute interview! It's a good thing too because if I had to fill out 1 more application I may have done something drastic.

SO starting Tuesday I will no longer be a stay-at-home girlfriend. The position is very part time, 12 hours a week to start, but it's something... and God knows I love my crafts!

Hello employee discount, goodbye paycheck. It's the natural cycle of things.

Really.

This list was actually not very long but give me a break.

I'm just getting back into the groove of blogging.

I like to think that my life might yield some more interesting stories than lately since I will be starting a job, so stay tuned!

Be prepared for some knit/crochet posts too. Because that is kind of all I do. And what I love.

I will now end this post with a picture of something I am doing right now.

ohai.

It certainly has been a while folks!

About 4 months to be exact.

My shop has been doing amazingly well since I started in August and I have been knitting and crocheting my little fingers off.

When I started my shop, I only expected to sell a couple things a month tops and instead I find myself with 80 sales and counting!

My biggest sellers so far were around the holidays and included my Candy Corn Pocket Pals around Halloween and my Wine Bottle Apparel (thanks a MILLION to Ivy for giving me the idea!) around Christmas .

Anyway, the main point of this post is also Ivy inspired (as was my last one from September!)...

Ivy had a truly excellent idea that I have decided to participate in.

She has decided to Pay It Forward (explanation below) and I hope you will join us in keeping this going:

I was reading Ivy's blog just now and she talked a little about PMS which, of course, sucks.

Sometimes it feels like we just cant catch a break.

Just when you're feeling good and recovered you get billed again.

There must be a mistake, I didn't order that.

Anyway, all this got me thinking about how most of us (my mom had a hysterectomy in her late 30s or early 40s) are going to have our periods for the majority of our life which means once a damn month!

For a LOT of years!

Its very alarming to think about.

I mean just ONE period is alarming, really... we are bleeding out of our lady business!

So on this thought track, I busted out my calculator and I want you all to do the same...

I want your period count as of now!

How many have you had thus far in your life?

I want to hear from you all! Regular and irregular periods alike!

My number is 95! That is a lot of tampons!

I'm guessing a lot of you can school me though since I am pretty young (22 next month!).

If I don't get at LEAST 10 comments I am going to be very disappointed and possibly delete my blog in a haze of depression.

Lets see those number ladies!

And it would be great hearing when/how you started your period if you have an amusing (or traumatic) story about it!

Hello there!

I have been so busy lately and I haven't had time (or ideas) to blog.

Don't get me wrong, I have been a home 80% of the time but I have been filling orders from my shop and creating new things for it.... combined with ironing, cleaning, cooking, and loving on my cat.

I've actually been having computer game and reading withdrawals since all I have been doing is knitting and crocheting.

The nerd in me is dying while the domestic side of me is alive and well.

On top of stuff to make for my shop, I have a seemingly never ending list of items to knit/crochet for friends and family including but not limited to:

- knit dust mitt for my aunt

- crochet hat for my brother

- coffee cup cozies for my sister

- crochet Droid cozy for my sister-in-law (this one is actually in the making and almost done)

- knit scarf for my dad

- crochet Christmas gift for Alex

- possibly 2 knit baby hats for Jil's friend's twin girls if she likes them

- knit bee for emelie

- 14+ crochet creatures of some sort for the kids Alex works with

- something for Alex to take to the Lovely Lauren Leigh when she goes to visit (I need to know when that will be so I can get on that!)

- crochet a ninja turtle for my sister-in-law's little brother

- stockings for Christmas since we have none!

- a crochet teddy bear for the manfriend's niece

I'm sure I am forgetting some stuff but my head is going to explode if I try to come up with any more.

Top that off with the 105 things I want to make for the shop and there is just not enough time in the day!

¡Feliz Septiembre!

I was just thinking about how much I hate my current bedroom and it got me thinking about my future bedroom.

Our room right now is too small for 2 people and currently one side, aka my side *turns to glare at Jonathan*, of our queen bed is against the wall which not only means I have to CLIMB over the manfriend to get out of bed every morning, but I have no bedside table to put stuff on or have a lamp for my night-time reading/knitting.

It is the pits.

Besides a nice centered bed with 2 bedside tables and lamps and whatnot, my bedroom of the future WILL consist of these 2 important things:

An alcove with a window seat

How perfect that this picture has knitting needles in it? Its like its calling to me

If I buy a house that does not have one I am putting on of those suckers in, mark my words.

It actually doesn't have to be in the bedroom.

I'll let that detail slide.

A vanity

I have always wanted a vanity.

The Lord of the Rings books are great as is the Hobbit.

My mother used to read them every year since she was a teenager and she has passed down her love to me.

I have also had these for a while...

The Sookie Stackhouse series.

I have been reading them slowly and actually just finished the first one last week or so.

I'm currently reading the second one but I might detour to one of the new books before I continue.

As some of you may know, I have recently taken up crochet and knitting.

After posting many of my finished projects on my Facebook and blog, I had a lot of people telling me I should open an Etsy shop and sell them.

The seed had been planted and after thinking on it for a few months, I am excited to say I finally opened my own little shop!!

I currently only have little crochet creatures for sale at the moment but once I get settled I plan on having some knit and crochet clothing accessory items (gloves, hats, etc.) as well as baby toys/clothing.

Currently I am working on an array of iPod/iPhone cozies which I am pretty excited about.

product review: scentsy

More like product rave!

It's true!

Last week I received my Scentsy order and I couldn't have been more pleased.

For all of those who don't know, Scentsy is basically a flameless candle that lasts forever!
The light bulb inside heats up the wax and melts it which releases the scent.

Once you are done with a particular scent, you just turn on your warmer, melt the wax completely, and then pour it back into the wax tray container which looks kind of like a little ice cube tray.

Welcome to Christina's Scentsy tutorial:

1. Get your Scentsy warmer out of the box and plug it in. Also make sure the top isn't on crooked like mine...

2. Choose which aroma you would like... Sugar? Sweet pea & vanilla? Vanilla cream perhaps?

3. Put a couple wax cubes on top. Amount depends on how strong you want the scent to be.
It IS strong so I wouldn't advise putting the whole tray of wax in at least until you decide how potent you'd like it.

4. Watch said wax melt as your home starts smelling tast-ay!

5. And melting....

6. When you feel your home is sufficiently smelly (in a good way, of course), just flip the switch on the warmer cord and turn the warmer off.

Easy as pie!

Its so nice that we won't have to keep buying candles and be careful to only let them burn for a couple hours at a time.
No more worrying about burning your house down either!
The wax will last forever and you can change it out any time you need a little variety in your life.

We chose the Satin Black full-size warmer which has a matte finish but there are a ton of really cute ones including medium-sized and wall plug warmers.

July has arrived!

This last week, Sunday until Thursday, I went down to the bay area to visit my fam!

I timed my visit around the Eclipse premiere since my sister-in-law invited me a while back and I stayed for a few days to see everyone.

So I'm pretty sure I am back to maybe 3 followers tops since I never blog anymore and when I do its just random bullshit.

But I am in a mood. A blogging mood, as it were.

I am going to paint a picture of my morning so far:

8:00 AM on the dot... Jonesy woke me up with the consistency of an alarm clock wanting to get his breakfast on.

He really has some impeccable timing, I must say and how can I deny my little man anything when he turns his purr box on like that?

Exactly, I can't.

So up I went, grabbing a sweatshirt and PJ bottoms to throw on to my nothingness on the way out.

I gave him his food and then went to go pee and a minute later he runs into the bathroom to see where I went.

The little guy has separation anxiety, I swear.

A little Facebook browsing, a tasty waffle, a hot cup of tea, and 3 hours later, I am siting here typing this as Jonesy sleeps on my desk next to the open window.

Jonathan is still in bed and probably will be for another 2 hours.

Even on work days, I am up pretty much 2 hours before him.

5 hours on his days off!

I've been thinking about my blog the past couple of days and how I never post anymore.

I feel like I have nothing to say really and especially nothing I can write that you guys will find amusing.

Maybe thats why I don't post.

I feel like people don't really care about what I have to say or the random BS that I do (which is pretty much nothing).

But

I have been thinking about doing picture posts more frequently with just pictures pretty much.

That might be interesting if I can pull it off and actually keep to it.

I'll probably give it a shot today or tomorrow.

Life is... good.

I'm sitting here with a cup of tea watching my kitten bat at a hair tie on my desk and smelling the spring air coming in through the window.

I just feel happy.

and I am beyond happy to be able to open the windows during the day right now because all too soon its going to be unbearably hot here and we will be bunkered down inside with the AC full blast.

This month seems busy for me...

Its mother's day AND my boyfriend's niece's birthday tomorrow and I assume we'll be going over to his mom's,

Monday we have a meeting with the apartment manager just to resubmit some information, no big deal,

Tuesday my sister and her boyfriend are coming to visit and meet Jonesy, Friday or Saturday I have to drive an hour and a half to go get Jonesy's second set of vaccinations which were included in his adoption fee,

then I think I'll be going down to my parent's for my sister's birthday which is on the 19th,

then finally theres Alex's way-too-early-in-the-morning graduation ceremony and later her graduation party!

I'm sure you people with jobs and school and busy lives are rolling your eyes at what I consider a "busy" month but this is kind of a lot going on for me.

I live an extremely uneventful life... something that I am pretty content with.

Anyway, I've just been knitting and TVing while the kitten sleeps on me.

Here are a few things I've done since I last posted my knitting.

Because I'm sure you all are just DYING to see right?

Yeah, I didn't think so but here goes anyway!

First I did a little shrug for a 3 month old... I need someone in my life to have a baby girl so I can give it to them!

I actually only made one glove because I didn't like the fabric for gloves... its hard to tell but theres a diamond pattern on the back side.

I found this Catnip Bunny pattern from this blog, Coffee and Cream, and I immediately wanted to make some for my little guy.

I guess the woman from Coffee and Cream makes them in bulk and donates them to local cat shelters which I think is a cute idea.

I'll probably end up doing making them when I'm bored and just doing that.

Theres supposed to be little felt tail sewn on the back but I don't have any felt right now so he is tail-less!

This was my first fair isle project (knitting with more than one color at a time) so I just chose this pattern as an easy practice.

and thats that.

I am currently working on some little cloth thing for my mom for mother's day.

It is May!

I'm just going to cut right to the chase....

I got a kitten!!

I meant to post this the day after I got him and ask you all to give me name ideas but I just haven't gotten around to it.
We ended up naming him Jonesy... full name: Dr. Jones.
Don't judge.
It was going to be Oliver but the bf didn't really like it and came up with Dr. Jones which I think is cute enough.
Yes, we do like Indiana Jones in case I left you with any question.

Here is the story!
Last Friday (April 30th), I was browsing craigslist for kittens, like usual, and I came across this one post for 3 kittens who were found at a dump in a SEALED box.
They just happened to be heard by a worker and taken to a rescue shelter.

People are just completely fucked up, btw, but that a whole other story.

I instantly fell in love with the picture of Jonesy (previously "Squirt").
I wanted him so bad that I wrote out my argument for Jonathan.

Operation "Get Squirt" was the official name.
Obvi.

So Jonathan came home for lunch and I showed him my paper and pleaded and told him how badly I wanted, nay, NEEDED him.
He said some of the following things:

"God, I don't want to drive an hour and a half to get him."

"This is such a bad idea, I don't want a cat."

"I don't know, I'll think about it."

"I don't want to pay $75 for a kitten, we can find one for free."

He left and I wasn't feeling too positive.
He hadn't given me an answer and I wanted to know so I could make an appointment to get him before he got adopted by someone.

Fast forward to 9:30 PM... the manfriend still wasn't home from work and he usually gets home a little after 7.
I called and he said he had a customer but he'd be home soon.
He came home shortly after and I was trying too not mention the kitten for a while so he wouldn't get mad then about 5 minutes later he said he had to close the car windows because it was going to rain tomorrow or something.
I was looking at stuff online and the TV was on so the mewing didn't register for a minute.

Basically my wonderful, loving, amazing, perfect, AMAZING boyfriend had taken off work early, found the craigslist ad, called and made an appointment to see him, and drove a total of 3 hour to surprise me with my perfect dream kitten.

I could not have been happier or more surprised.

He is so sweet and cuddly and playful and just perfect.
Better than I had hoped.
He snuggles with me all day and I certainly don't have a case of the lonelies anymore.
The best part is, Jonathan seems to really like him too and actually cuddles with him.

This is pretty much old news though, but last Saturday Alex and I decided we needed to hang out.

It was long overdue (as is this post).

The original plan was:

Go to C-town

Eat at Chili's

Go look at rings at the home of my future engagement ring

Eat frozen yogurt/all around general gorging

Original plan turned into:

Go to... R-town?

Eat at Red Robin--The waiter we had was totally on the same page as Alex and like complete opposite from me. She was ordering and before she even got a chance to say it, he said "no onions" and we were like WOW impressive. You're in her head. Then when I ordered he struck out 3 times. You see, I love onions. and garlic. a LOT. And he apparently thinks that women don't like garlic and onions? I don't know but he did not get me at all. he was pretty much over me by th end of the meal and was new BFFs with Alex. The price I pay for liking "guy food".

Get slushies at Sonic (I haven't ever been before)

As we drove into R-town, we noticed that all along the sidewalks there were tons of taped off areas and chairs as far as you could see, all through town.

WE finally asked what the heck was going on and I guess it was a pretty famous annual car show.

People literally set up shop along the road to watch, I assume, the old classic beefed up cars roll through.

There were like.. a LOT of people out to watch this.

Not my cup of tea but clearly a lot of other people were down.

The "show" started at 6 pm so we made a mental note to get out of there before then.

Our shopping trip was pretty much a fail, I have to say.

Alex bought belt and we called it a day.

I saw nothing that I even really liked.

We diiiiid however go look at a jewelry store (Fred Meyer or something like that I believe) and I tried on rings for the first time.

It was really, really weird trying on engagement rings.

They're so.. sparky.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure my boyfriend has ZERO intention of proposing any time soon.

Like not even in the next couple years if I had to guess.

It was still kinda fun to try them on though.

And I discovered that I don't really like round cuts after all.

Enlightening, really.

After our fail shopping session and trying on rings, we left for home.

And when I say we left I mean we left the parking lot and got lost for 20 minutes trying to find the freeway.

When we were finally headed home we decided to take a quick detour to Sonic.

I had never been, nor seen, a Sonic before and Alex always talked it up so I had to try it.

When we pulled into Sonic I finally understood wtf was with the commercials.

For those of you, like me, who don't know what a Sonic is, you park your car in like a stall with a menu and you press a button when you're ready to order.

You even pay right there and then the people rollerskate the food out to your car.

So my impression with the Sonic commercial was that they were at a drive through or something and they were sitting there eating in their car and they were just hanging out in the drive-though line?

Or something?

But yeah it finally clicked when I saw the place.

Well we had been there for like 5 minutes when it clicked actually, sadly.

Don't judge me.

Anyway we had our Mozzarella Sticks and were setting off to drive home.

As we were pulling out of Sonic, Alex switched the radio and the song by some guy named Spose (I think) came on and the first thing we heard was, "I got the swagger of a cripple".

We started dying.

I'm pretty sure its not even that funny but we hadn't heard the song before ("I'm awesome") and some serious hilarity ensued.

So much so that instead of making a right and merging straight onto the freeway, we made a left by mistake and went driving 10 minutes in the wrong direction before we realized we needed to turn around.

Goooood times.

All in all, it was a glorious time even though the mall failed us.

And there wasn't a Chili's in R-town (what kind of backwards place doesn't have a Chili's?)

Oh yes, before we left we had a little WWLW dress up session.

We didn't get too many good pictures.. and I don't think we gathered enough.. materials.

Hello my homies!

Pardon my absence.

What, you ask, have I been doing instead of blogging?

Well, not only have I been knitting away but we just got a DVR and a free year subscription to Showtime so I have been watching all 3 seasons of The Tudors and everything that I have been recording (Modern Family, Parenthood, Project Runway, Real Housewives, etc).

I've always been bad about sitting down when a show is about to start.

I don't like to HAVE to watch TV at a certain time.

So now I don't!

I watch it at my leisure.

DVR is a wonderful thing.

Speaking of which, children these days are so spoiled with electronic things.

Every time I see a child out in public they have a Nintendo DS glued to to their nose as they magically manage to follow their parents through the store or down the street.

(Bahaha. Lightsaber stylus.)

A while ago Jonathan's niece was over watching Spongebob and when it went to commercial, she turned to use and asked us to fast forward.

Sadly we had to inform her that we could not oblige as we did not have a DVR.

Can you imagine being so used to the best electronic devices that you just assume thats just how stuff works?

I'm pretty young so I find it funny that I was actually old enough to remember the first ghetto computers where you had to go to the black screen and type in some crazy commend to start your program.

This was our AMAZING technology.

Can you imagine?

Remember having to rewind your VHS movies?

I remember when we got our first DVD player.

Look how far we've come!

Its really amazing.

Not much has really been going on with my life besides the whole getting-a-DVR thing.

I am officially (I think) not working for my dad because he decided that not only is he not busy enough, but if he does get busy enough he's going to use some scheduling place that does 24 hour service phone service for only like $99 a month.

I mean really that is a good deal I suppose.

It was a disappointment for sure but what can you do.

I had really been planning on having some income as well as some sort of purpose during the day.

I think its silly he bought the DROID for no reason but thats a whole other story.

I've also been kind of trying exercising in the apartment a few times a week as well as make smarter food choices and just to eat thoughtfully.

I would like to go run outside for even like 30 minutes a few days a week but I don't want to be alone and I have a fear of being swiped up off the street and stolen or being molested or something (I'm probably crazy but Jonathan doesn't want me to be out alone either) so I stay inside and try to do stuff.

Jonathan is a failure and doesn't like to exert himself after working all day so he wont come with me.

And by "exert himself" I mean do anything at all that he doesn't want to (I'm rolling my eyes right now).

Anyway, I'm really trying to be more motivated to do my exercises but its hard to get myself to do it.

I'm really fine with my weight but in the last 2 years with zero physical activity and pretty much sitting in the apartment all day I have started to lose muscle tone and my stomach is getting, shall we say, not firm.

I think its a testament to my good metabolism that I am not a fat ass at this point.

My legs could do with a little working out too.

I am so weak its ridiculous.

I can only handle like just under 15 seconds of a wall squat before I want to keel over and die.

Its bad man.

That is really all.

I'll try to write more frequently.

It just seems like my life isn't as amusing as it was a few months ago.

P.S.-I hate my neighbors. I hope they all move.

Howdy April!

Ever since I got my new, amazing, wonderful, knitting needles from Knit Picks I have been knitting up a storm.

These are the things I've been making lately:

1. Snowman dishcloth

Hopefully you can see the snowman in there. Its snowing too!

I was a little inconsistent with my knitting so its a little misshapen, but it's not too bad.

When I was searching for knitting patterns last month, I stumbled upon Kris Knits, a blog by a seriously creative and talented woman.

She has some adorable children and, amongst other things, she features a monthly mystery KAL (knit-along).

She actually designs a pattern (for a dishcloth like above) every month and throughout the month, without telling what the design is, she posts a little bit of the pattern at a time so it's just a bunch of people knitting "together" and trying to figure out what it is exactly.

It was really a victorious moment as I was knitting this one (January's) when I discovered it was a snowman!

2. Long stocking cap

This hat just made me laugh so I decided to make it.

It was my first project with my new needles.

(I totally ran out of brown yarn so I just made it all white at the top)

I'll probably give it to my boyfriend's niece or something.

3. Neck warmer

I found this pattern on the website where I got my needles and thought it was really cute.

I still need to buy a large button to finish it.

4. "Sweet Little Birds"

My mom's best friend loves birds and owns like.. a ton.

So I decided to knit her some (not-so-sweet) birds for her birthday.

I've never knit anything that I had to stuff before so I found this easy pattern and went with it.

If I were being honest with myself, they're kind of bad.

The faces are a little retarded (and crooked) but those beaks are not as easy to make as you'd think!

I know she'll love them and appreciate that I made them though so thats all that matters.

On another note, is it strange to anyone else that Michaels doesn't sell stuffing?

Apparently I got lucky and they for some reason had them for something and they had one bag left on clearance but they don't even stock stuffing.

Seems kind of strange to me but whatev!

This month will/may (hopefully) bring:

epic trip of epic proportion: day 1...

As some of you may have already read by now, Alex, Lauren, Ashton, Vanessa, and myself just got back from a fantastic San Francisco blogger date!

Thats right, I met these amazing ladies up close and personal.

We also had a little rendezvous with The Daughter (who was absolutely lovely as well) and needless to say, we had good times.

I don't even think I can begin to cover the whole trip in words so I will just do a 2 part picture tutorial.
You will probably be hearing this from all of us so try not to get sick of it.
They'll probably write more than me anyway.

AND WE BEGIN!

The Epic San Francisco Trip of Epicness.
Day 1
DISCLAIMER: Ladies, you had a chance to veto these pictures!

So.. day 1 (I'm the stripey one)
Yeah, we didn't know where we were going.

What has this world come to that 3 out of 5 ladies could be standing on a street corner at 8 am on their smartphones looking at their GPS.
Yeah, we didn't know where we were going and we had a breakfast date to keep.
We had to bring out the big guns.

I realize that I grew up in Cali and have probably been to San Fran a hundred times but I've never really roamed the streets freely, nor have I been there in 3 years.

So I wasn't all that much help.

Don't worry, we made it.

After breakfast, we took a stroll all through Chinatown.
We actually saw a car commercial being filmed, fog machine and all.
If you see a dark grey (and possibly a black) Mustang in Chinatown on a commercial, think of us.
We were totally there.
Word.

If you look realllly hard you can see the fog and the car about to bust through it for the commercial.

Yes, it's because of the bangs.

Creepy coconut head.
There was a girl face on one side and a boy face on the other.
Creepster.

The fail that was the Chinatown gate.
Lauren and Ashton were expecting some glorious, huge, red and gold thing.
They were sadly disappointed.

Luckily Ashton found some adorable shoes to buy nearby to ease the pain of disappointment.
Which was lucky because she was about to bust out her Sharp.

After Chinatown, we took the first cable car of the trip and went down to Ghirardelli Square for an afternoon tea date we had.

We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather while we were there.

I was expecting it to be chilly the whole time we were there but it was beyond perfect.

This tea place was beyond adorable.
If you're going to San Fran, I suggest making a tea date.

They ended up joining the wine club while Alex, Vanessa, and I sat outside in the beautiful sun.

I can't speak for the others but I was pretty much about to pass out all day.
I hadn't slept all week and we got less than 4 hours the night before.

busy me & a tragedy in tard-town...

Tragedy has struck today.
Our plate has a chip in it.

Its our first chipped dish ever.
We haven't even broken a glass or anything either.
(I'm finding some wood right now)

Now THAT is something to be sad about. Just sayin'.

As promised, here are my finished knitting projects thus far.
Since the potholder of fail, that is.
I won't be posting that picture again.

The Scarf

I was really just practicing my stitches and switching colors.
Its as long as my whole arm span (aka as tall as me).
I don't have a tapestry needle so I haven't done away with all the extra string on the ends yet.

The (half) Hat

I didn't actually have the proper size needle to make this so I ended up using one 4.5 sizes smaller.
I really just wanted to practice more.
So yeah, it doesn't have a back.
Not too shabby though, if I do say so myself!

So I'm leaving on Friday and then next Thursday to Sunday I have a hot date with a few ladies.

So the this post title may seem like an oxymoron (thats kind of the word I want right?) but that is howiroll.

At least right now.

Today was Jonathan's last day off and tomorrow he is back to work.

Tuesdays are like the beginning of the week for me and Saturdays are the end.

Back to another week home alone (sad).

(Disclaimer: I realize how lucky I am to not have to work and stuff but it still gets lonely sometimes. I am not ungrateful though! My manfriend is a saint!)

Today I finally broke down and ordered the needle set that I've been eyeballing since I started knitting.

I am SO excited.

It might be a little sad how excited I am, actually, considering its a set of needles for my KNITTING.

I have been completely in love for weeks now but I couldn't justify spending $75 on it.

Jonathan is the reason I finally broke down and ordered it today.

He was actually really supportive and kept telling me to just get it now if I'm going to keep knitting.

When I handed him a calculator of the total, to see if it was ok still, he said, "Its fine! Order it! Order some yarn too."

I heart him!

So in 5-10 business days it shall be here!

Hopefully closer to 5 days.

And now on to the RAGE.

Here is my list of 5 things that make me rage.

As silly and irrational as they might sound, whenever one of the following happens I want to punch something and/or scream.

1. When my toothpaste falls off my toothbrush as I am screwing the lid back on the tube with my other hand. This happens ALL THE TIME. It makes me crazy.

2. When I accidentally touch/nudge the cans/water bottles sitting on our tiny space of a counter for recycles and they domino.

3. When I am doing laundry and something that was just washed or dried falls on the floor. Particularly my underwear. I do laundry at Jonathan's mom's house and the washer and dryer are actually located outside in a little building. The ground is not clean. Sometimes it is wet from the rain. And spider-webby. And dirt-y. This seriously makes me rage. I get so grossed out and annoyed.

4. When I get hot pink nail polish on my new jeans.

5. When I get woken up at 7 AM (!?!?!?!) by my boyfriend, who is still up from the night before, btw, talking loudly to his friends on Ventrilo as he plays a shooter. This only happened once but let me tell you, I was PISSED. He had been super loud and yelling into his mic all night but I had finally gotten into a solid sleep (rather than almost being asleep but getting woken up again by his loud talking/yelling). After I had given him a piece of my mind and gone back to bed, he didn't say another word on Ventrilo and was in bed within 5 minutes. We're lucky no one actually got punched in this instance.

Thats right, its story time.

I should have shared this tale way before now.

When: 2-ish weeks ago, at night

Where: outside my apartment door

My parents had stopped at our apartment on their way back from visiting my dad's good high school friend and, after watching a movie for a while, decided to just stay the night.

They had the two dogs (both miniature dachshunds) with them.

(Mollie and Guster... with my mom)

My mom and I decided to take a stroll outside and walk the dogs before settling down for bed.

When we walked outside, there was some guy was in front of us just walking out of the apartment across from mine.

We were halfway between my apartment door and the sidewalk when my neighbor opens her door, throws a huge ARMFUL OF CLOTHES, still on hangers, out of her apartment onto the ground, then slams the door shut.

The guy got into his car and squealed off without a glance behind him.

My mom and I were left standing there in shock.

We were trying to be cool and act like nothing happened.

After a minute my mom whispered to me,

"Did she just kick him out?"

I answered with an affirmative and shushed her.

We couldn't believe we had just witnessed that.

How pissed do you have to be to throw your boyfriend/baby daddy's (I really doubt they are married) clothes outside onto the ground?

Jonathan responded to it with a simple:

"Dirtbags."

All I could think was:

Wow, that really just happened, I just witnessed that.

Sometimes, in life, you see something that makes you say "holy crap" while giggling.

This was one of those times.

I'm a little late on the March calendar notification.

Even more proof that I have been failing at my blog lately.

I just feel like, more than ever, nothing is going on with me.

Hopefully this month brings:

1. My official start of working for my dad. It sounds like it's actually going to happen very soon.

2. Lots of car sales for Jonathan so we can be rollin' in it!

3. A kitten! Jonathan definitely isn't saying no but he isn't saying yes or giving me a time when we can get one. I think he really wants to get me one (he's catching on that I've been having a not so great couple weeks at home, I think) but he doesn't necessarily want us to have to deal with actually taking care of a pet.

4. A winning lottery ticket. A girl can dream can't she?

5. More beautiful sunny-yet-not-too-hot days.

On another note, do you people like tuna sandwiches?

The manfriend can't STAND the smell of tuna and won't allow me to make them if he's home.

He's a tyrant I tell ya!

I'm forced to get my tuna-fix during the day and have the apartment aired out by the time he gets off work.

Even then, he usually can smell it somehow...

Freak!

On that note, I'm going to go air out the apartment a little more and wash my tuna-tainted dishes.

There will be no evidence!

So I have been a ~~bit~~ lot MIA lately.

Me and my blog are just taking some time apart.

Hopefully I'll be posting more frequently again.

I'm still having blah days at home.. I think thats reason #1 why I want a kitten so bad.

I just need something going on during the day.

I did finally get my DROID (yay!) though so hopefully I'll be starting working for my dad real soon.

That would be something going on.

and on the kitten front, Jonathan said he'd make up his mind by this weekend.

But since he works Tuesday through Saturday his "weekend" is Sunday-Monday.

Soooo I'm assuming he'll draw it out until Monday.

We shall see!

Back to the DROID!

I tweaked the lighting because I was texting Alex some top secret messages.. and I crossed out her last name so you creepers can't stalk her :)

Last but not least, my knitting projects.

What to say about my knitting..

I like it still, very much.

I was sitting on the couch the other night knitting and when the pizza delivery guy came to the door I hid it so he didn't think I was a crazy knitting fool.

I'm really not that ashamed though.

Really.

I am a granny in training.

Or a crazy cat lady in training.

Take your pick.

As for the potholder thing I was making, I kind of brought the fail to it.

It was actually going pretty well for the first almost-half and I was feeling pretty good.

But THEN I noticed my pattern disappearing.

I had somehow (apparently I repeated the same row twice) managed to flip the stitch to the opposite side.

I read some forums though (yeah, I read knitting forums. Love me.) and figured out what I had done wrong and got my pattern back on track!

Unfortunately the damage was already done and I wasn't down with going back to fix it.

So I have a block of nothingness on my potholder dealy.

I have decided to take it as a learning experience.

At least in the future I will know what to do if I "lose" my pattern again.

So anyway, please witness the fail that is my potholder.. or more like.. hotpad. Or whatever you'd call it?

Yeah, thats because I didn't actually knit this one.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I mysteriously added stitches during the process.

When I figured this out and how/why I was doing it I decided to make it the correct number again.

Needless to say, that is why it is thinner at the top.

After that monstrosity, I decided to do a scarf and practice my color switching.

Its about 2 and a half times as long now.

Yes, thats how long I have been putting off this post.

Its actually going pretty well though.

Not that I'd wear it because it's kinda lame and not soft

BUT

I'm practicing!

and I think its looking pretty good.

I need to invest in some more supplies.

I already have a set of needles that I'd like if I continue to knit.

Its like $60-$75 but it comes with 9 sets of needles (all different sizes) and some other goodies.

I don't think I'll want to wait for my birthday.

I'll probably end up asking Jonathan to get them for me.

Anyhow, enough about knitting!
